Rice pudding

The good old Rice pudding, and the history of it… ❤

I love it in all forms and flavours, with cinnamon, vanilla, coconut ... but somehow this Hungarian version with fruit is my favourite one!

Rice pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1 cups rice
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • 400 g of seasonal fruit (frozen can be used)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Preparation:

Bring the rice to boil in 100 ml of water. Simmer and stir until the water evaporates. Then gradually add the milk, and stir. Finally add the vanilla and sugar. It takes about 45 minutes to prepare the rice pudding on low heat with constant stirring. Serve in glass cups. Boil the fruit in (little) water, add the sugar and corn starch, water dissolved. Stir until it cools down. The fruit can be mixed with the rice pudding or poured over.
