Oldfashined apple pie

Martin had a celebration at school. All the children needed to bring over something homemade. I will never forget when he came home and said to me with admiration: “Mom, I have never tried a more delicious cake than the apple pie I tried made by Aaron's grandmother”. Hm, where am I to find the grandma to give me the recipe?! I sat on the Internet. I read maybe 100 recipes. I will try it out, and maybe I will be successful in achieving the taste. It became our favourite.

Oldfashined apple pie

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr. flour
  • 200 gr. lard or butter
  • 1 baking powder
  • 1 small sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • bit of salt

 

Filling:
  • 1kg. Apples
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons semolina

Preparation:

Knead the dough and leave it in the fridge for half an hour. Apples are simmered with semolina. Roll out half of the dough in a baking tray, put the filling and cover with the other half. Prick with a fork. Bake at 180 C.

Cool the pie and sprinkle with powdered sugar. I recommend chopping the apples into thin sheets.
