Strudel with cherries

When I find this kind of strudel with cherries to buy, I will never enter the kitchen to make it. I like it with a lot of filling and little dough. I enjoy it with apples and cinnamon, pumpkin, but cherries is my favourite one. There is no season for this dessert. During the summer time it is prepared with fresh fruit, whereas in winter time you can use frozen fruits. I can make them with my eyes closed. I only need crust. I even got used to these Hungarian ones. They are a bit thicker, but they do not tear and are neatly packed.

Today I am in the mood for a quick, tasty dessert, and I honestly do not have much time. But when I set my mind on something, it is difficult for a person to dissuade me. I am often asked about the inspiration to cook. I read a lot of cook books, cooking magazines, I follow a lot of bloggers who remind me of myself. Not that I do not like the famous cooks, but what they do is their profession, and they already have an entire team in support - from design, lighting to photography etc. I prefer bloggers whose passion or hobby is cooking.

Strudel with cherries

Ingredients:

  • 250 gr. thin crusts
  • 50 gr. butter

 

Filling:
  • 800 gr. cherries
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation:

Take 2 thin crusts, each coated with melted butter, add cherry filling, pre-cooked and jellied with 1 tablespoon of corn starch and cooled. Coil into a roll. Bake the strudel on paper at 200 C for 25 minutes. Powdered sugar on top is enough to sweeten the flavor.
